For this project we first learned how to say commands in Spanish and how to say a lot of food in Spanish. From this our we would write out a recipe in Spanish, my partner and I had decided to make Horchata. When we were finished writing up our recipes we would then make a video of us making our recipe and giving the instructions in Spanish. So we learned how to give commands in Spanish and being able to make a video of us giving correct instructions on how to make the recipe in Spanish.
Mi Frida Project
In this project we learned about the artist, Frida Kahlo. We learned about her through reading a biography and watching a movie about her as well. Not only did we learn about Frida, but we learned how to read and write in past tense in Spanish. Our final product for this project was we had to write a biography about a famous person or someone in our family. We had to write about their life in past tense. When we wrote our biography, we painted a painting of that person based off of a Frida Kahlo painting. This project was very helpful and I really enjoyed learning something new in Spanish seeing as writing and being able to speak in past tense in Spanish is very important. The portrait that I based off of my painting was "Self portrait with monkey."
Calaveras Literarias is a a poem making fun of someone, and at the end of the poem you create a way of how they are going to die. The poem is basically teaching someone that no matter how rich you are, how athletic you are, or whatever lifestyle you have you are going to die. For this project I made fun of a coffee addict. At the end of the poem the way they died was they were going downstairs to grab their coffee, but slipped and hit her head, cracking their skull. I really enjoyed this project and thought that it was a good lesson to teach people, no matter who you are, we are all going to die so you're not better than anyone. It also expanded my Spanish vocabulary.
This is my poem and artwork to describe how the person died.
